Guilford College offers the opportunity for groups of upper-class students to live together in special interest housing known as theme houses, of which there are three. The Pines is an intentional community founded on the principle of sustainability. The themes of Cobb House and Pope House rotate annually based on student proposals and are centered around various social, co-curricular or academic interests each year. Examples of previous themes are substance-free/healthy living, the study of languages, service and intersectionality. Each house has a house manager, a student who works closed with the housed community and support staff to ensure the success of the house, and a house advisor, a faculty or staff member who provides guidance to the house. These housing options are not available for new or transfer students. Please visit the theme houses GuilfordNet webpage for application information.
